Sometimes they reveal themselves through a sentence that seems to arrive from nowhere, through color moving across a page, through an image, a memory, or the freedom to follow our imagination without needing to know where it will lead.
Expressive Writing & Art is a weekend gathering devoted to that kind of discovery. Through writing, art, beauty and playful exploration, we create together and allow what is true within us to find its own expression.
There is no need to be a writer or an artist. Come with curiosity and a willingness to see beyond what you already know... to follow the unexpected, listen to the heart, and discover what becomes possible when you give yourself the freedom to create.

Imagine giving yourself a weekend to follow your curiosity wherever it wants to take you.
A word becomes a sentence. A sentence uncovers a memory. A color awakens a feeling. Something you hadn't intended to create suddenly shows you something you hadn't expected to see.
Through thoughtfully guided writing and art experiences, you will be invited to explore what feels true, intimate and alive within you. There will be moments of reflection and moments of play, time to create privately and opportunities to share within the gathering.
What emerges may surprise or delight you. You may find words for something you have felt but never quite known how to express, or discover something about yourself that had been quietly waiting to be seen. In the midst of creating, there is often a moment of recognition... a glimpse of what feels true, tender and entirely your own.

Experience
I will guide you through each experience with prompts, imagery, creative invitations and moments of reflection designed to stir curiosity and encourage you to follow what wants to emerge.
Your words and art are yours to interpret. I am there to bring the invitation, offer guidance along the way, and nurture the discoveries that begin to take shape as we create together.
Some moments may take us somewhere thoughtful and unexpected. Others may simply be wonderfully playful. Both belong here.
Because creativity does not always need to accomplish something. Sometimes the freedom to wonder, imagine and make something simply because it delights us is reason enough.

My own creative life has always been shaped by curiosity... by a love of beauty, words, art, nature, ancient wisdom and the desire to understand what lives beneath the surface of our experience.
Expressive Writing & Art brings those worlds together in a way that leaves room for something equally important: play.
The kind of play that gives imagination room to wander. The kind that lets us make something without judging it before it has had a chance to exist. The kind that reminds us there is still wonder to be found in ourselves and in the way we experience the world.
Perhaps that is part of the invitation... to make beauty and playfulness something we remain devoted to, rather than something we leave behind.

There is a wonderful energy that appears when women gather to create together. Each woman arrives with her own stories, memories, curiosities and way of seeing, and as we begin to write, make, imagine and share, something unexpected can happen.
One woman's words may awaken an idea in another. A piece of art may stir a memory. A conversation may lead somewhere none of us anticipated. There can be laughter, quiet reflection, discovery and those lovely moments when inspiration seems to move around the room.
You are creating something entirely your own while surrounded by women doing the same... individual voices and expressions coming together for a weekend of creativity, beauty and play.

Expressive Writing & Art is created for curiosity, not expertise. You do not need to know how to paint, draw or write beautifully, and there is nothing you need to prepare beforehand.
Come exactly as you are, with a willingness to experiment, follow your imagination and see what emerges.
The weekend is about expression, discovery and the pleasure of creating without having to get it right.

THE EXPERIENCE
Each gathering will be approximately 90 minutes and will weave together guided writing, imagery, simple art-making, reflection and playful creative invitations.
I will offer prompts and guidance as we move through the experience, with plenty of room for you to follow your own curiosity.
Some invitations may begin with words, others with color, an image, a memory or something entirely unexpected.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
No special supplies are necessary. A notebook or journal, something you enjoy writing with and a few simple creative materials are enough.
Colored pencils, watercolor, markers, collage papers or whatever you already have nearby can become part of the experience. Choose what delights you. This is not about having the perfect materials.

Sharing is always an invitation. There may be moments when we open the gathering for conversation or for anyone who would like to share something she has written, created or discovered, but you may participate in whatever way feels natural to you.
Some things may want to be spoken aloud. Others may belong quietly on the page.

A MORE INTIMATE BEGINNING
Friday evening is a smaller gathering before the full weekend begins, created for women who choose the VIP experience.
It gives us more time together for conversation, personalized guidance and creative exploration in a more intimate setting.
It is a beautiful way to settle into the weekend, begin creating and allow our little circle to become acquainted before Saturday's gathering.
